Studia ukończył z wyróżnieniem w klasie gitary prof. Aliny Gruszki w Akademii Muzycznej w Katowicach. Jest laureatem wielu konkursów gitarowych takich jak: Ogólnopolski Konkurs Gitarowy Szkól Muzycznych II st., Zamość 1982 – II nagroda; Ogólnopolski Konkurs Wykonawczy Gitary Klasycznej, Łódź 1985 – II nagroda; Konkurs Muzyki Hiszpańskiej i Latynoamerykańskiej, Kraków 1988 – III nagroda; Międzynarodowy Festiwal Gitarowy „Śląska Jesień”, Tychy 1988 – wyróżnienie za interpretację walców Enrique Granadosa.
W latach 1991-1993 jako stypendysta rządu meksykańskiego doskonalił swoje umiejętności pod kierunkiem gitarzysty i kompozytora Ernesto Garcia de León w Narodowym Uniwersytecie Autonomicznym w Meksyku, uzyskując dyplom z najwyższymi ocenami. W latach 1993-1998 prowadził bogatą działalność koncertową propagując współczesną muzykę gitarową w kraju i za granicą (Niemcy, Szwajcaria, Meksyk).
Od roku 1998 poświęcił się pracy pedagogicznej wprowadzając wiele nowatorskich metod w nauczaniu gry na instrumencie. Jego uczniowie zdobywają nagrody na konkursach ogólnopolskich i międzynarodowych, takich jak: Ogólnopolski Konkurs „Gitara w muzyce kameralnej” w Tychach, Międzynarodowe Spotkania Gitarowe w Sanoku, Mikołajkowy Konkurs Gitarowy w Rybniku (zasięg ogólnopolski), Dolnośląski Konkurs Gitarowy w Kłodzku, Międzynarodowy Festiwal Gitarowy w Trzęsaczu, Ogólnopolskie Przesłuchania Uczniów Klas Gitary i Zespołów Kameralnych Szkół Muzycznych I stopnia w Warszawie, Ogólnopolski Konkurs Gitarowy na wykonanie utworów kompozytorów polskich w Tomaszowie Mazowieckim, Ogólnopolski Festiwal i Konkurs Gitarowy „Gitara Viva” w Kielcach, Międzynarodowy Konkurs Współczesnej Muzyki Dziecięcej i Młodzieżowej „Srebrna Szybka” w Krakowie, Międzynarodowy Festiwal i Konkurs „Gitaromania” w Jeleniej Górze Cieplicach, Ogólnopolski Konkurs Gitarowy „Młodzi czarodzieje gitary” w Dobczycach, Ogólnopolski Konkurs Gitary Klasycznej im. A. Tansmana w Kępnie, Dąbrowski Konkurs Gitarowy w Dąbrowie Górniczej. Uczniowie otrzymali także Nagrodę Dyrektora Centrum Edukacji Artystycznej, Stypendia Dyrektora Centrum Edukacji Artystycznej, a także Stypendium Krajowego Funduszu na rzecz Dzieci (recital na Zamku Królewskim w Warszawie).
Za twórcze i aktywnie działanie pedagogiczne został doceniony przez kolejnych dyrektorów Zespołu Szkół Muzycznych w Tychach, którzy przyznali mu nagrody Dyrektora Szkoły. Za swoją działalność otrzymał List Gratulacyjny Dyrektora Zarządu Oświaty i Zastępcy Prezydenta Miasta Tychy. Znaczącym wyróżnieniem jest Nagroda Prezydenta Miasta Tychy.
Jest pomysłodawcą i organizatorem Ogólnopolskiego Konkursu dla dzieci i młodzieży „Gitara w muzyce kameralnej” odbywającego się od 2006 roku w Zespole Szkół Muzycznych w Tychach. Bierze udział w pracach jury ogólnopolskich konkursów gitarowych oraz prowadzi warsztaty i kursy gitarowe dla uczniów i nauczycieli. W roku 2021 został przyjęty do grona konsultantów Centrum Edukacji Artystycznej.
Od roku 2010 zostało opublikowanych kilka zbiorów Mirosław Franczaka z utworami na gitarę klasyczną. Kompozycje z tych zbiorów są wybierane do programów obowiązkowych w ogólnopolskich konkursach gitarowych oraz wykorzystywane w pracach magisterskich studentów akademii muzycznych. Znajdują się również wśród publikacji polecanych przez Centrum Edukacji Artystycznej.
Biography
In 1989 he graduated with distinction from the Academy of Music in Katowice, where he had studied under the guidance of prof. Alina Gruszka.
He won many awards in guitar competitions, among which are the following: 2nd award at the All-Poland Classical Guitar Competition in Łódź (1985), 3rd award at the Spanish and Latin American Music Competition in Cracow (1988), a distinction for the interpretation of Enrique Granados’ music at the International Festival „Silesian Guitar Autumn” (1988).
From 1991 to 1993 as a scholarship holder of the Mexican Government, he developed his skills under the guidance of a composer and guitarist Ernesto Garcia de Leon in Universidad Autonoma de Mexico and he received the diploma with the highest marks. A direct contact with Latin American culture gave him special assets, namely the knowledge of its characteristic, attractive music and the variety of repertoire.
From 1993 to 1997 he worked actively in the artistic field giving concerts in the country and abroad (Germany, Switzerland, Mexico).
Since 1998 he has been devoted to pedagogical work. He has introduced many innovative guitar teaching methods.
His students win prizes in national and international competitions, such as: The National Competition of Guitar in Chamber Music in Tychy, International Guitar Meetings in Sanok, “MikołajowyKonkursGitarowy” in Rybnik (nationwide), Silesian Guitar Competition in Kłodzko, International Guitar Festival in Trzęsacz, National Auditions of Guitar Classes and Chamber Enschools of Music of 1st degree in Warsaw, The National Guitar Competition for the performance of works by Polish composers in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, the National
Festival “Gitara viva” in Kielce, The International Competition of Contemporary Children’s and Youth Music “Srebrnaszybka” in Cracow, the International Festival and Competition “Gitaromania” in Jelenia Góra-Cieplice, the National Competition “Young Wizards of Guitar”; in Dobczyce, the A. Tansman National Competition in Kępno, Dąbrowski Guitar Competition in DąbrowaGórnicza.
His students also received the Award of the Director of the Centre for Artistic Education, Scholarships of the Director of the Centre for Artistic Education, as well as the Scholarship of the National Children’s Fund (recital at the Royal Castle in Warsaw).
For his creative and active pedagogical activity he was appreciated by the successive directors of the Music School in Tychy, who awarded him with the School Director’s awards. For his activity he received a Letter of Congratulation from the Director of Education and Deputy Mayor of the City of Tychy. A significant distinction is the Award of the President of the City of Tychy.
He is the originator and organizer of the All-Poland Competition for children and young people “Guitar in chamber music”, which has been held in the Music School in Tychy since 2006. He takes part in the works of the jury of national guitar competitions and conducts workshops and guitar courses for students and teachers. In 2021 he was accepted as a consultant by the Centre for Artistic Education.
Since 2010 several collections of Mirosław Franczak’s works for classical guitar have been published. Compositions from these collections are selected for obligatory programs in national guitar competitions and used in master theses of students of music academies. They are also among the publications recommended by the Center for Artistic Education.
